Notes:

The flights of Lukla while returning to Kathmandu are often delayed to cancelled due to various reasons. Some of the key reasons include remote location, short runway, Kathmandu airport congestion, and weather. Therefore, it is recommended to add 1 or 2 days extra to avoid missing your international flight. In case of the flight cancellation, private helicopter is available to use, but you need to pay USD 2,500 for a full helicopter and USD 500 per person on a shared basis. It is used for emergency or last-minute requests. Unlike aircraft such as the Twin Otter and Dornier, which require at least 5,000 meters of visibility, the helicopter can fly in low visibility down to 1,500 meters. To use a helicopter, you need to book before 24 hours of taking flight. It is strongly recommended that you have travel insurance which can cover high-altitude trekking, flight delays, and helicopter evacuation. We will assist you with the required documents for any insurance claims if you encounter any of these issues.
